I’ve posted a lot of pictures taken with my Olympus E-PL3 recently, but I still take pics with my iPhone 4

This one was taken along the cliffs near Coogee Beach, using Hipstamatic. I cropped out the border and ran it through Snapseed.

The end result was a bit sparkly and different from my other pictures of these grasses. This one made it to the 50′s in Flickr Explore on 25th December – by far my best ever result in Explore (I’ve only had about 7 anyway).

Very pleased with this one, it’s probably one of my best night time shots. It’s got the twinkly lights, the reflection on the water. Yep. Quite pleased

Took this one at Featherdale Wildlife Park, just outside of Sydney. I didn’t plan to capture only half and Emu but quite like the way it turned out.

My new Olympus 35MM Macro Lens arrived on Friday and I found some time to test it out yesterday.

I absolutely love this lens. I’ve always been interested in Macro photography, and this lens lets me get so much closer than anything else I’ve ever used. Not that I’ve used much – this is the most camera equipment I’ve ever owned

I still have a lot to learn about this lens, particularly with the focusing. I was using the auto setting yesterday, just to get the feel of the camera and lens. I need to branch out into the Aperture zone soon.

Posted this picture to show how close I could get to a flower.

For two nights this week the Sydney Opera House was lit up in red in support of World Aids Day. I popped down to Circular Quay one night to have a look and take a few pictures.

I wasn’t expecting the patterned display on the sails – it looked great.

I took this photo with my Olympus E-PL3, using the Aperture setting. Yes, I stepped away from those Auto pre-set options The photo isn’t as sharp as it could be but I am not very experienced in night photography so it was all a bit of hit and miss!

Took this one along the rocks near Coogee, using my new 40-150mm lens. Previously i couldn’t zoom up this close to the grasses and flowers right at the edge – this time I could and that’s ocean in the background.

Last weekend I went to the middle of nowhere to visit my parents. It’s not my favourite place in the world but the desolate landscape makes for some interesting pictures.

A beautiful red sunset appeared on the last night and I used it as a backdrop against a few bits and pieces in the back yard.

Yes. This is the backyard of my parents house. I guess I should be thankful that I didn’t grow up there and only have to go visit every now and then.

A bit of a cliche picture but I’m still practicing and learning with the Olympus E-PL3. Took this one in central Sydney.
